Pupil Voice at Bushvalley

At Bushvalley, we believe it is essential to listen to our pupils and we value their opinions.  The voice of every child plays a key role in shaping our school and curriculum.  We strive to provide all our pupils with numerous opportunities to share their thoughts and contribute to decisions that impact their learning and well-being.

We are committed to ensuring that every voice is heard.  To do this, we offer a variety of ways for our pupils to share their views and ideas. These include the roles of School Council, Eco-Council, Digital Leaders, School Librarians and Sports Captains.

Bushvalley School Council

Bushvalley School Council have a very important role in the everyday school life at Bushvalley.

Each year the children create manifestos and vote for class representatives from Primary 3-Primary 7 to form the School Council.

Throughout the year the School Councillors encourage their classmates to bring suggestions about a range of issues to the meetings.

The School Council meets fortnightly to discuss issues that they would like to change or improve at Bushvalley.

School Digital Leaders

At Bushvalley, we recognise the importance of technology in education and we appoint Digital Leaders to help assist with the delivery of ICT.  Our School Digital Leaders are chosen to take on responsibilities related to technology and digital learning at Bushvalley. They help their peers, teachers, and the wider school community to use technology effectively and safely.

On Friday 24th October, our School Council organised their first fundraising event of the school year.  This was a non-school uniform event with pupils coming to school in some wonderful costumes.  The pupils also enjoyed a Spooky Hunt in the playground.

A special mention to P5-7 school councillors (Coltan, Ellen, Beau, Lily and Jesse) for doing an excellent job organising and running the day.
